Causes of left ovary pain?? Please help!!?

6 days before my period was due i started spotting pink for 10 days it then turned brown and on day 2 of the brown it got heavier for 2 days its been 4 days since it all stopped but now i have a really bad pain in my left ovary. any ideas of what could be causing this
