When you take a step back and look at the world, do you see an all-loving, benevolent god?
Personally, I don't. I see a common spirit (or whatever you choose to call it) that connects us to the world and universe around us, but nothing that can or should be called all-loving or caring in anyway. I just don't think that if an all-loving god existed people would be suffering excessively around the world. I don't understand why an all-loving god, benevolent god would let children starve and be abused without stepping in. I suppose what I'm saying is that I don't get how people can be blinded by that idea of god when we're stuck in the reality of a suffering world that no god obviously cares about helping. And of course some of you will use to fail reasoning of impending judgement and an afterlife to justify this, but the truth is that this is life right now. And the right now matters more than the what's to come after death. So, am I the only one who doesn't see the idea of god so many seem to be obsessed with? What are your thoughts? And if you don't, why do you think others convince themselves to see it?
