Can my ex boyfriend still enlist in the army if I'm pregnant?

I'm 18 and he's 19 and i'm about 1 month pregnant, but when we were unsure if I was pregnant or not he was already pressuring abortion on me. He said that if I had the baby that it'd ruin his life cause the army is his only option. He told me that his recruiter told him that he can't have a baby at all if he wanted to enlist or join. He makes me feel guilty and tells me I'm gonna ruin his life if I keep the baby & threatens to kill himself. I know he's selfish and a jerk. but can someone please clear this up for me? cause I've been looking all over online about this, I think/know he's lying to me. Up to this point, I don't care if he's in the baby's life or not anymore because of how selfish he's being. Is it true you have to be married? cause I know we aren't ever gonna be together. Can he still enlist now because I'm only pregnant and I haven't had the baby yet?
